The Chief Executive Officer of Jaytech Group Ltd, Amb. Christopher Ogar, popularly known as Jay Moni, has called on the sons and daughters of Yala to unite and take collective responsibility for the development of the area, as the Yala Summit and the official launch of The Voice Channel took place at the B&B Event Centre, Okuku, in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State.

Jay Moni, who is the Ambassador of the Yala Summit and the launch, was represented at the event by Hon. Ebriku John Friday, JP, his media consultant, who delivered his goodwill message on his behalf.

In his remarks, Amb. Ogar expressed deep honour at addressing the distinguished gathering and described the summit as a timely platform for charting a new developmental course for Yala.

He noted that the theme of the event, “Building a New Yala,” strongly aligns with his personal life journey and his enduring commitment to the progress and wellbeing of his people.

Reflecting on his upbringing as a young boy from Itega Ekpudu in Okpoma, Yala LGA, the ambassador said he has first-hand experience of the challenges confronting many Yala communities, including limited access to potable water, electricity, good road networks and other essential infrastructure.

According to him, these realities have continued to inspire his passion for development and the need for sustained collective action.

Amb. Ogar emphasised that the task of building a new Yala requires the active collaboration of illustrious sons and daughters of the area, both at home and in the diaspora, working in synergy with government efforts. He stressed that development is a shared responsibility and that sustainable solutions can only be achieved through unity and cooperation.

He further highlighted the importance of peace, unity and love as the foundation for meaningful development. Education, he said, remains a critical pillar for progress, particularly through the promotion and preservation of local dialects and cultural heritage, alongside the provision of quality Western education. He also called for deliberate investments in skills acquisition, entrepreneurship and other viable economic opportunities to empower the people, especially the youth.

On food security, the ambassador advocated the empowerment of young people to become active participants in agriculture and across the entire agro-industrial value chain as a pathway to sustainable economic growth.

Amb. Ogar commended the Chief Executive Officer of The Voice Channel, Mr Dominic Oloko, for his foresight, resilience and dedication to providing Yala with a credible and impactful media platform.

He appealed to leaders, stakeholders and well-meaning individuals to support the initiative with the necessary tools, equipment and resources to ensure effective service delivery and long-term sustainability.

He also reaffirmed his long-standing commitment to philanthropy, noting that he has been involved in various interventions aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by the people of Yala. He assured that, by the grace of God, he remains committed to doing even more in service to humanity and the overall advancement of Yala.

Amb. Ogar concluded by urging all stakeholders to remain united in purpose, stressing that a new Yala, one that is peaceful, empowered and prosperous, is achievable through collective effort. He ended the message with prayers for God’s continued blessings upon Yala Nation.
